Oh, to love Jesus. Oh, to really love Him. To adore Him and give Him all we have. Without reservation or expectation, without hopes of what He can or will give us in return. Oh just to love Him with pure intentions.
But what is this life? This tension of loving Him just for loving Him, on giving Him everything, and yet the tension of the practical living. What will we do for food and provision? How will we survive long term?
And yet, all we have and are is found in Him. We will truly find ourselves when we are wrapped up in Him. When we give our all and get lost in Him. In this losing ourselves, we find ourselves. When we get lost in Him, we get lost in The Way Himself. The one who IS direction and guidance. The One who IS the Counselor and Good Father.
In Him, we have all we need. All we could ever hope for or imagine or dream. It’s all found right there, in Him. In this one who loves us, and we love Him back. Who pursues us and we melt in His affection. The one who adores us and speaks kind, good words over us and we get lost in His love. The love of a present, engaged, kind Father. The Love of a Pursuer, pure and holy, only purest intention, looking out for what’s best for us. The love of a Groom, so dedicated and holy. The love of a friend, who sees the best, believes the best, calls us higher and loves us no matter what. Who is always available and never afraid of any mess. Oh what a friend! Jesus.
