Who knew talking with Jesus throughout the day was a thing?! Like, asking Him questions and conversing with Him, moment by moment and actually hearing his responses. Oh my goodness, life transforming!!!
Some friends recently left our house and they were GOLD. The things we are learning and realizing here leave me often in shock, disbelief, awe, and in so much thanks. (I love Jesus.) 🙂
I was asking them about birth and the questions that were swirling in my mind with baby number two coming in the next couple months. They graciously answered my questions and encouraged me, but they all said, “Just ask Jesus about it, cause He’ll tell you!”
Duh. Oh my goodness, isn’t that the epitome of what we’ve learned and gained here.
“Just ask Jesus! He loves to talk to you and will talk to you!” That’s been our journey and it still blows me away cause it still doesn’t always come as my first response. (Someday soon, hopefully! I’m learning.)
They say to just ask HIM about when to go to the hospital, ask HIM about your labor and all your questions, ask Him because HE WILL TELL YOU.**
And the thing is, he LOVES to tell us! HE LOVES to tell us secrets. That’s what good friends do.
I was journaling and processing and talking to him after everyone left. Once again astounded, amazed, and humbled. And I could just sense His smile. Like He was whispering, “Yep, that’s who I am and what I love to do. I’m just waiting. You can ask anytime.”
He’s so happy I was let in on the secret (again).
I felt like He whispered and reminded, I love to be with you. I love to tell you secrets! I LOVE to talk with you and commune with you all. day. long.

Questions about how to help your kids or what they need in the middle of a melt down. Questions about discipline and our kiddo’s heart needs. Questions about the future or what I’m thinking about, about what to do this afternoon, how to spend my time, how to love that friend that came to mind. He loves it all. Cause He just loves to be with us!
It’s astounding and still gets me every time. He LOVES to be with us.
It’s His great PLEASURE to talk with us and help us and just be a good friend and amazing dad.
Heart melting. Just rest in that for awhile…
There’s a whole deeper level of walking in friendship with Him, God. Whole new levels of intimacy and conversation and friendship.
It’s exciting and world changing and relieving, isn’t it? It changes everything.
Always someone to talk to and walk with. Someone to have fun with and adventure with. Someone to process with, help us, give us wisdom and insight and ideas and answers to our questions.
How can He really be so good? 🙂
It’s amazing.
So here’s to God who loves to be with us, loves to talk with us, and loves to share secrets with us. And here’s to us retraining ourselves to check in with and converse with Him moment by moment, all throughout the day.
This sounds like a fun adventure I am SO ready for. Are you?! You in?!
**Obviously, in just learning to hear God it’s our tendency to want to hear His voice on the big things, the big questions, the things we feel desperate to know. While He of course loves to engage with us on those things, it’s learning to not just come to Him with big, pressing things. It’s more about having ongoing conversation with Him about the minute things, the little things, the day to day things, moment to moment things where we learn to trust and recognize His voice.
