In case you didn’t know… Jesus is wildly in love with you! Can you hear his pleasure over you? “YOU were worth it all. Every late ministry night. Every lash and betrayal. Every thorn and every nail, if it meant I got to tear the veil between us!”
Jesus looked ahead in time and saw the joy coming (YOU), and he decided it was all worth it. He endured the cross because you are worth it to him!
If you cannot hear this voice speaking over you, chances are you are more familiar with another voice: Shame. Shame will not allow you to receive the lavish love of God. It says, “If He only knew…” It caps off the amount of love you receive. But you are not exempt from the love of God. The all-powerful, all-knowing, God of all creation didn’t “miss it” when he looked into the future and saw you. Our sin was great, but his grace is greater!
To be clear—Jesus doesn’t lessen the wages of sin. He elevates the power of grace, and rightly brings our absolute need of a savior to the forefront. But here we stand: Justified before him. Washed clean by his blood. Righteous in his eyes.
There is NOW NO condemnation in Christ Jesus. He rejoices over us with singing.
So let’s go back to the start. Open your heart to him again and say, “Jesus, I release my shame to you. I could never earn your love, but you’ve paid a great price for me to live in it. Come again and let me experience your lavish love. Overflowing. More than enough!”
Jesus looks at you and says, “You were worth it all.”
