Who’s ready for rest, thriving and love? Aren’t we ALL ready for a life of thriving and flourishing?!
Good news, friends… IT’S RIGHT AT OUR FINGERTIPS. Help, rest, thriving and love pouring over us is right here waiting for us. Hosea 14v4-8 says:
“Return to the Lord, repent and we will hear Him say,
‘…My love will know NO BOUNDS,
for my anger will be gone forever.
…My people will again live under My shade.
THEY WILL FLOURISH.’”
Wow. WHAT A PROMISE.
Turn your life to Jesus, leave the sin behind and you will (WILL, not might) hear that kind, gentle, ever compassionate, oozing with love for you voice say, “My love will know no bounds.” None. Endless, never stopping, can’t be contained, never conditional love. Love not based on what you have or haven’t done. Love just because He is oozing with love for you.
Pause and take that in for a moment. I could get lost in that love forever. What a God!
And then that kind voice continues, “My anger will be gone forever.” Forever. He holds no anger against us. If we only come back to Jesus and let sin go, He’ll immerse us in kind, pure love and hold not an ounce of anger against us. Thank Jesus we get to live forever in His love and not anger.
The good news keeps going, “My people will again live under My shade.”
Ahh, the rest and deep exhales we find in the shade, don’t we? On blazing hot, unbearable days or on perfectly calm and cool ones, we get to rest in His shade. His protection. His safety. He is a tree spread out for us to find rest and calm, protection and safety. I don’t know about you but I want to live in that place FOREVER. What a good spot to camp out. Inhale the goodness of all that living under HIS SHADE means. Don’t you feel the rest, peace, deep contentment and gratitude wash over you?
“They will flourish.” (verse 8)Making a home in His compassionate, deep love, living under His shade, protection and presence… that sounds like a life where we’ll flourish. The promise is turn your attention to Him and you will flourish. There’s that “will” again. Not you “might” or “if you’re lucky” but you WILL flourish, thrive, blossom. You will come alive inside His love and under His shade. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like the place I want to be. Let’s go there, shall we?
